Why a Weekday Getaway is Exactly What you Need Right Now

When thinking of a getaway, most of us naturally default to the weekends. But if you feel bogged down or in need of a spirit-lifting break, a mid-week trip offers an abundance of perks with fewer crowds to navigate. And for those who are working from home, the “sneak away vacay” allows you the extra bonus of taking your virtual office nature-side while getting in some much-needed R&R. This spring, the Fairmont Lake Louise offers the ideal weekday mix of outdoor and culinary adventures to reconnect you to nature, yourself, and your loved ones.

Ski Then Savour

As the springtime ushers in longer days with fewer mid-week skiers, it’s the perfect time of year to master those turns or work on that goggle tan. The Lake Louise Ski Resort is open until May 2nd making a morning or afternoon ski session followed by one of Fairmont Lake Louise’s cocktail, beer, or champagne tastings, the ultimate combination of shoulder season activities. From 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM daily, Monday, April 5 – Sunday, May 16, the Outdoor Bar on the Lakeside Terrace will be serving up a libation experience worth toasting.

Mondays are All About Nature. Sip floral-inspired cocktails and sample hors d’oeuvres while learning about Lake Louise flora and fauna from Mountain Adventure Guide Mike.

Tuesdays will bring out your competitive side with the Local Beer Tasting and Trivia. Raise a pint of Fairmont Lake Louise’s proprietary Backcountry Blonde Ale, a partnership with Grizzly Paw Brewery as you test your skills. Winners have the chance to win complimentary beer tastings.

Graduate from hump day to a bubble-infused afternoon, with Moet and Chandon Wednesday! Enjoy the beauty of the lakeside and mountain view as you sip and socialize (distanced, of course) by the outdoor firepits.

Thursdays level up your cocktail-making skills and historical knowledge as our bartenders show you how to create their favourite cocktails in the Mixology Experience. Mountain Adventure Guide Mike will be there to share his best stories of Lake Louise and the area.

Or channel your inner Monet in the Paint Lake Louise classes on the Lakeview Patio. Hosted by local artist Mindy Johnstone, the step-by-step outdoor painting class will have you taking home your masterpiece. All materials included. Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 12:30 PM –2:30 PM.
