Jeff Douglas – Wellness Facilitator
About, Career, & Passions:
Jeff grew up beside the pristine lakes of Kejimkujik National Park in Nova Scotia. After studying Outdoor Recreation he left Canada’s ocean playground behind in 2005 for the Rocky Mountains and has never looked back. A passionate advocate for environmental stewardship and lover of anything that involves fresh air, his personal motto is “life is better with a backpack on.”
His youth was spent cross country skiing, mountain biking, backpacking and canoeing and has since included mountaineering, backcountry skiing, and trail running into his everyday life and travels.
Whether it be mentoring new guides, youth or guiding adults, he desires to help people come to understand a sense of “place” with a focus on safety, learning and realizing how fortunate we are. Jeff loves to leave the crowds behind to find pristine trail running areas where big views are the show and is on a seemingly never ending quest to find the perfect post run craft beer pairing. The quest continues!
Accredited as a Hiking Guide through the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, a Professional Interpreter with the Interpretive Guides Association, a Cross Country Ski Instructor, and a Flat Water and Big Canoe Instructor. In 2015 he received the “Award of Excellence” from the Interpretive Guides Association.
